Saffron Tea Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/8 tsp. ground saffron*
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
    2 tsp. grated lemon rind
    2 tsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Combine first 3 ingredients, beating well.
    Add eggs, one at a time.
    Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture with milk.
    Stir in lemon juice and rind.
    Pour into a greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 55 to 60 minutes.
