Marinated Mushrooms - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. olive oil
    2 c. water
    1 c. fresh lemon juice
    6 large cloves garlic, halved
    2 small bay leaves
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    3 lb. small whole rinsed fresh mushrooms
Preparation
    Put all ingredients, except mushrooms, into a 3-quart saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat.
    Cover and simmer 15 minutes to develop flavor.
    Add mushrooms and simmer 5 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally and gently until tender.
    Cover and cool in liquid.
    Refrigerate overnight or up to 3 days.
