Cherry Pie Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 egg whites
    3 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. crushed saltine crackers
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 large tub Cool Whip
    1 can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Beat egg whites and cream of tartar.
    Add sugar and vanilla; beat until stiff.
    Fold in crushed crackers and pecans.
    Bake in buttered 9 x 13-inch pan at 325\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Cool completely. Top with Cool Whip.
    Put filling over Cool Whip.
    Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.
