Never Fail Brisket - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 to 6 lb. single brisket
    onion powder
    garlic powder
    pepper
    1 pkg. kosher dry onion soup mix
    12 oz. apricot jam
    1 c. ketchup
    2 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Season brisket to taste with onion powder, garlic powder and pepper.
    Broil in pan for 10 minutes on each side.
    Be careful not to burn meat.
    Add 2 cups hot water to onion soup mix.
    Add 12 ounces apricot jam and 1 cup ketchup.
    Pour mixture over meat. Bake 3 hours at 350\u00b0.
    Better if made the day before.
    Freezes very well.
