Picante Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 (29 oz.) cans tomatoes or 7 1/2 qt. chopped fresh
    11 green onions or 1 c. chopped onion
    4 fresh jalapenos or 4 canned jalapenos
    1/4 c. red wine vinegar
    1/2 c. chili powder
    2 Tbsp. garlic powder
    1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    2 tsp. red pepper
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Chop tomatoes, onions and peppers coarsely.
    Combine tomato mixture and remaining ingredients in a large pan or kettle.
    Bring to boil over medium heat.
    Reduce heat to low; simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
    Pour hot mixture in hot sterilized jars, leaving 1/2-inch headspace.
    Remove air bubbles; wipe jar rims and cover at once with metal lids and screw on tight.
    Process in boiling water bath 10 minutes.
    Yields 16 pints.
