Company Pickle Chunks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 to 12 medium cucumbers
    8 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. mixed spices
    5 tsp. coarse salt
    4 c. cider vinegar
Preparation
    Cover cucumbers with boiling water; let stand until next morning.
    Repeat this procedure 3 times (days).
    On fifth day, drain and slice cucumbers into 1/2-inch cubes or pieces.
    Combine remaining ingredients (sugar, spices, salt and vinegar).
    Bring to boiling point and pour over cucumbers; let stand 2 days.
    On third day, bring to boiling and seal in hot, sterilized jars.
    Hot water bath for 5 minutes.
