Mom'S Navy Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 bags (4 cups) dry navy beans
    3 quarts of water
    1 or 2 ham butts (or small pieces okay)
    1 large 1 lb. can crushed tomatoes
    1 Tbsp. onion powder
    2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. black pepper
Preparation
    Soak dry beans overnight according to package directions. Drain and rinse beans.
