Buttery Cut-Out Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. softened butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    2 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy.
    Beat in egg and vanilla.
    Sift together flour and powder.
    Stir into butter mixture; blend well.
    Chill dough thoroughly.
    Roll out small portions of dough.
    Cut with cookie cutters.
    Place an inch apart on lightly greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until brown at edges.
    Remove to a rack to cool.
    Icing with a powdered sugar/milk mixture.
    Use food coloring to be creative.
