Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. soda
1 c. applesauce
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1 c. raisins
3/4 c. chopped nuts
1 lb. glaced fruit and peels
1/2 c. maraschino cherries, chopped
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar. Add spices and egg and beat well. Dissolve soda in a little warm water and add applesauce. Combine the two mixtures. Add the flour in which raisins and other fruit have been dredged. Bake in a greased loaf pan 45 to 60 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven. Line bottom of pan with waxed paper for easier removal from pan.
