Chiles Rellenos Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 (4 oz.) cans whole green chiles
1 c. milk
1/3 c. flour
2 eggs, beaten with fork
1/4 tsp. salt
1 lb. Cheddar cheese, shredded (about 4 c.)
1 (14 1/2 oz.) can ready-cut salsa tomatoes, mashed
Preparation

Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
Slit open green chiles; remove seeds. Rinse and lay flat on paper towels to dry.
In medium bowl, whisk milk and flour with beaten egg.
Season batter with salt.
Layer half of chiles in bottom of a greased 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
Top with half of cheese and pour on half of batter.
Repeat with remaining chiles, cheese and batter.
Place in middle of oven. Bake 30 minutes.
Spoon mashed tomatoes evenly over top.
Bake 30 minutes longer, or until set.
Serves 4.
