Surprise Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    17 soda crackers
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 egg whites
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/4 c. pecans
    1/2 c. coconut
    nondairy whipped topping or whipped cream
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Butter a 9-inch pie plate.
    Crush crackers.
    Add baking powder and salt; set aside.
    Beat egg whites until foamy.
    Add sugar and vanilla.
    Blend well.
    Fold in crackers.
    Add 1 cup of pecans and coconut.
    Bake 30 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Let cool.
    Put topping on and sprinkle with pecans.
