Molasses Cake Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 c. light molasses
    1/2 c. water
    1 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. coffee powder
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add egg and beat well.
    Mix in molasses and water.
    Sift together remaining ingredients.
    Stir into creamed mixture.
    Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    While warm, frost with confectioners icing.
