Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. flour (plain)
    1 c. molasses
    1 egg
    1/3 c. sugar
    1/4 c. hot water
    1 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    3/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Heat oven
    to
    325\u00b0.
    Grease and flour a 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Measure all ingredients into a bowl, blending 1/2 minute on low speed.
    Continue beating until well blended.
    Pour into pan. Bake 50
    minutes.
    Serve
    warm
    with whipped
    cream
    or applesauce.
