Mexican Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. onion, finely chopped
2 Tbsp. butter
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (4 oz.) can green chilies, diced
2 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. red pepper
1 (8 oz.) pkg. tortilla chips, coarsely crushed
2 c. (8 oz.) Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
1 lb. ground beef, cooked and drained
1 c. sour cream
1/2 c. (2 oz.) sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
Preparation

Saute onion in butter until transparent.
Add sauce, chilies, cumin, salt and red pepper.
Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Layer in buttered 9-inch square baking dish half of the following: tortilla chips, Monterey Jack cheese, beef and sauce.
Repeat once.
Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 20 minutes.
Remove from oven and spread sour cream on top.
Sprinkle with Cheddar.
Bake an additional 5 to 10 minutes.
