Bran Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. bran (raw)
    1 c. boiling water
    1 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 pt. buttermilk
    3 c. flour
    4 tsp. soda
    1 1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. bran buds
Preparation
    Mix bran and boiling water.
    Cool.
    Beat shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs and buttermilk.
    Add bran to mixture.
    Sift flour, soda and salt; add dry ingredients to mixture until mixed well.
    Stir in bran buds and pour into muffin pan.\tBake at 400\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
    May be kept in refrigerator for 4 to 6 weeks and baked as needed.
