Colossal Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk, scalded
    1/3 c. sugar
    1/3 c. shortening
    1 scant Tbsp. salt
    1 pkg. yeast, in 1 c. warm water
    2 eggs
    1 c. or more meal
    flour (enough to make dough, about 6 c.)
Preparation
    Add sugar, shortening and salt to milk.
    Add yeast to warm water.
    Add yeast and eggs to milk when cool.
    Add meal and flour. Mix and knead until smooth.
    Oil lightly, cover and put in warm place to double in bulk.
    Knead again.
    Shape into loaves, about 3.
    Let double in bulk again.
    Cook at 375\u00b0 for 35 to 45 minutes.
