Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. vegetable shortening
    2 c. granulated sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    5 egg yolks
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. coconut
Preparation
    Cream the butter, shortening and sugar, then add the vanilla and egg yolks and cream all together.
    Add alternately the sifted flour, buttermilk and soda.
    Then add the pecans and coconut. Beat 5 egg yolks until very stiff.
    Fold in the batter by hand, very delicately.
    Bake in 3 (8-inch) cake pans, greased and floured, at 325\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
