Apple Cottage Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. butter (room temperature)
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
    1/3 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 c. milk
    3 green cooking apples
    1/4 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. each: cloves, nutmeg and allspice
    sweetened lightly whipped cream and cinnamon
Preparation
    Mix flour, baking powder and salt; set aside.
    Cream the butter, vanilla, lemon rind and 1/3 cup sugar.
    Cream until well blended.
    Add egg and beat until fluffy.
    Add flour mixture alternately with milk until smooth batter forms.
