Frijoles De Olla - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. dried pinto beans
    1/2 onion, coarsely chopped
    2 Tbsp. minced garlic
    1/4 c. finely chopped cilantro
    1/4 c. chopped fresh tomatoes
    2 to 4 fresh chopped Serrano peppers
    1 c. chopped cooked ham or bacon
    salt and black pepper to taste
Preparation
    Clean and soak beans.
    Drain, rinse and place in large saucepan; cover with hot water.
    Bring to a boil.
    Add all other ingredients.
    Simmer, covered, for 4 to 6 hours or until beans are tender, adding water as needed to cover beans.
    Yields 6 to 8 servings.
