Hambone Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3/4 c. flour
1 c. yellow cornmeal
4 tsp. baking powder
1 pinch brown cumin
1 pinch cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. sugar
2 large eggs
2 Tbsp. scallions, finely chopped
3/4 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. ham, diced
powdered sugar to taste

Preparation

In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients.
Add eggs and beat well.
Whisk in the buttermilk, scallions and diced ham.
Form batter into small balls, using your hands.
Deep fry in 350\u00b0 oil until golden brown.
Garnish with powdered sugar.
