Date Nut Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 egg whites
    1 c. sugar
    12 saltines, crushed
    1 c. dates
    1 c. broken pecans
    1 tsp. almond flavoring
Preparation
    Beat egg whites until stiff.
    Slowly add sugar.
    Stir in crushed saltines, dates, pecans and almond flavoring.
    Bake in preheated oven at 270\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    The pan must be well-greased. It is best to draw the batter to the outside of the pan.
    When cool, cut in wedges.
    Serve with a scoop of ice cream.
