Chocolate-Topped Custard Pie - cooking recipe

3 slightly beaten eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
2 c. scalded milk
1 unbaked (8-inch) pastry shell
1/4 c. milk chocolate pieces
4 tsp. milk

Preparation

Combine eggs, sugar, salt and nutmeg.
Stir in hot milk; mix well.
Pour into unbaked pastry shell.
Bake at 425\u00b0 until knife inserted just off center comes out clean, about 25 minutes.
Cool. Melt chocolate with 4 teaspoons milk over low heat, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat; stir in additional milk, a few drops of a time, until of spreading consistency.
Quickly spread over the pie.
Chill.
