Chili Con Carne - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. diced green pepper
1 clove garlic, chopped fine
1 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. finely chopped beef suet or 1 slice bacon, chopped fine
2 c. canned tomatoes
2 c. red kidney beans, drained (save liquid)
2 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. chili powder, diluted in 2 Tbsp. warm water
4 Tbsp. fat or oil
Preparation

Heat oil. Add onion, garlic, bacon and green pepper.
Saute until golden brown. Add beef and stir until lightly brown. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and bring to a quick boil.
Lower heat and simmer 30 minutes.
Add beans and simmer an additional 15 minutes.
