Ginger Creams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    1 egg
    1/3 c. molasses
    1/2 c. lukewarm water
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar thoroughly.
    Add egg.
    Beat well after; add molasses.
    Stir soda into warm water.
    Add alternately with sifted dry ingredients.
    Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake about 20 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
    Spread with Powdered Sugar Icing.
    Cut into strips 1 x 2-inches.
