Southwestern Corn Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. slivered toasted almonds
    3 c. corn kernels (frozen)
    4 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. carrots, chopped
    1/2 c. celery, chopped
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 to 2 tsp. cumin
    3 cans chicken broth
    1/2 tsp. white pepper
Preparation
    Melt butter and saute carrots, onion and celery until tender. Add garlic and cumin; heat 1 minute.
    Add broth, pepper and corn. Simmer 20 to 25 minutes.
    Add almonds.
    Process in blender or food processor.
    Garnish with sour cream, Cheddar cheese, cilantro and green onion.
    Serve with pita bread wedges, toasted with cheese, green chilies and black olives.
