Yum Yum Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 c. raisins
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. each: cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 Tbsp. Crisco (not butter)
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Mix sugar, cocoa, raisins, salt and spices in water and cook on top of stove until it boils. Boil for 5 minutes. Cool. Dissolve the baking soda in water and add. Mix in the flour and beat well. Add nuts. Bake in moderate oven for 35 minutes in a square pan. Cover with a simple white frosting or dribble on a glaze. Good plain or served with vanilla ice cream.
