Ingredients

1 lb. can diced or sliced beets, drained (reserve 1/3 c. liquid)
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. vinegar (scant)
2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation

In saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt.
Stir in the reserved liquid, vinegar and butter.
Cook and stir until mixture thickens and bubbles.
Add the beets; heat through.
Serves 4 or 5.
