Joe'S White Christmas Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. commercial sour cream
    1/3 c. light corn syrup
    2 Tbsp. margarine or butter
    1/8 Tbsp. salt
    1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped candied cherries
Preparation
    Combine first 5 ingredients in a small Dutch oven; bring to a boil.
    Cover and boil for 3 minutes.
    Uncover and cook, without stirring, until mixture registers 230\u00b0 on candy thermometer. Remove from heat.
    Let stand for 15 minutes.
