Ingredients

2 large onions, sliced
1/4 lb. butter (not oleo)
2 (16 oz.) cans beef broth
4 c. water
8 beef bouillon cubes
1/2 c. seasoned croutons
Preparation

Saute onion in butter until onion starts to look clear.
Place broth in 3-quart pan. Add onions, water and bouillon cubes. Simmer 30 to 45 minutes. Pour soup into ovensafe bowl; add croutons. Place in 325\u00b0 oven for 5 to 10 minutes.
