Granny Waldrep'S Lye Soap - cooking recipe

Ingredients

4 cans lye
16 lb. grease (bacon drippings)
1 lb. Borax
8 gal. soft water (prefer rainwater)
2 lb. Resin

Preparation

Add the ingredients in a large kettle and boil for 1 hour. Put into flat crocks to cool.
Cut it into bars the next day.
