Flip Flop Bean Salad - cooking recipe

1 medium onion, diced
1 (15 oz.) can green peas, drained (discard liquid)
1 (15 oz.) can French-cut green beans, drained (discard liquid)
1 pkg. (approximately 1/2 c.) sliced almonds
1 c. chopped green celery
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. salad oil
1/4 c. vinegar
1 tsp. salt

The title of this concoction identifies the process necessary to produce the flavor of this combination. Need 2-quart storage container with a lid that will seal without a leakage when container is inverted; i.e., turned over, upside down, at least four times in twenty-four hours before serving.
