Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 small can evaporated milk
    2 c. pecan halves
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 Tbsp. water
    2 Tbsp. white Karo syrup
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients, except vanilla, in heavy pan.
    Cook over medium heat about 12 minutes, stirring constantly with wooden spoon.
    Remove from heat and add vanilla.
    Cool 2 to 3 minutes. Stir until it starts to thicken.
    Drop by spoon on wax paper.
