Saucy Shortribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. shortribs (3 inches long)
    4 to 5 green onions
    1 Tbsp. sesame seed
    6 Tbsp. soy sauce
    3 cloves garlic
    1/8 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Score ribs on both sides 1/3 of the way down.
    Do not cut all the way through.
    Put ribs in a heavy kettle.
    Add the garlic to the soy sauce.
    Put in kettle, along with enough water to cover the ribs 3/4 up.
    Add scallions (chopped).
    Toast seed in salt briefly until rounded and brown; add to ribs.
    Bring to boil; lower heat and simmer.
    Cover and cook for 2 hours.
    Serve with cooked rice.
