Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. granulated sugar
2 well beaten eggs
3 c. sifted self-rising flour
1 tsp. soda
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. peanut butter
dash of salt
Preparation

Cream shortening, sugars and vanilla; add eggs.
Beat thoroughly.
Stir in peanut butter.
Sift dry ingredients; stir into creamed mixture.
Form into tiny balls; place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Press with back of fork to make crisscross.
Dough may be rolled, if desired.
Bake in 375\u00b0 oven for 10 minutes or until well done.
Yield: 8 dozen cookies.
