Fried Okra - cooking recipe
Ingredients

fresh okra, cut in 1/2-inch lengths
1 c. milk
1 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. flour
oil (for frying)
Preparation

Pour milk over okra and let stand 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Toss okra with hands to make sure each piece is soaked.
Mix meal and flour with salt and pepper to taste.
Drain okra and roll in flour mixture.
Drop in hot oil and fry until golden brown.
Repeat until all okra is fried.
