Green Tomato Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. lime
    7 lb. green tomatoes, sliced
    3 pt. vinegar
    4 1/2 lb. sugar
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. allspice
    7 sticks cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. salt
Preparation
    Combine lime and 2 gallons water in large container.
    Soak tomatoes in lime water for 24 hours.
    Wash carefully and soak in clear water for 5 hours.
    Combine vinegar, sugar, celery seed, allspice, cinnamon and salt in large kettle; bring to boiling point.
    Pour over tomatoes while hot.
    Let stand for 24 hours. Bring to a boil.
    Boil for 25 minutes.
    Place in sterilized jars and seal.
