Ingredients

3/4 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
1 Tbsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/6 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs, beaten
3 c. warm water
6 Tbsp. yeast
8 to 9 c. Robinhood flour
Preparation

Mix together
yeast
with
water
water.
Melt
shortening. Add sugar and salt.
Beat eggs and add to yeast mixture with seasonings and shortening.
Add flour.
Let rise.
Roll out on bit of floured surface. Fry and glaze
or
roll
in powdered sugar or cinnamon mixture.
Yield: 75.
