Old Fashioned (Strawberry) Shortcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter or margarine
2 egg yolks
2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
2 egg whites

Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg yolks; beat.
Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together.
Add the sifted ingredients alternately with the milk.
Beat well.
Fold in the well-beaten egg whites.
