Hot Cross Buns(An Easter Favorite) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. dry yeast
    1/2 c. each: warm water, butter and sugar
    1 tsp. each: salt and cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    1 c. milk, scalded
    2 eggs
    4 1/2 c. flour (about)
    1 c. light raisins or currants
    1 Tbsp. milk
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in warm water.
    Add butter, sugar and seasonings to scalded milk.
    Cool to lukewarm.
    Add one egg and one egg white to milk mixture; add yeast.
    Beat.
    Gradually beat in about 2 cups flour.
    By hand, stir in enough additional flour to make a soft dough.
    Turn out onto a lightly floured pastry cloth.
    Add raisins; knead until smooth and elastic.
    Place in a buttered bowl.
    Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk.
