Egg Custard - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. scalded milk
nutmeg (optional, to sprinkle on top)
Preparation

Combine eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla, mixing well.
Pour 1/4 cup scalded milk into egg mixture.
Stir well.
Then slowly add rest of milk, stirring constantly.
Pour mixture into 9-inch deep dish pie crust shell.
Sprinkle with nutmeg, if desired.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
Do not overbake, as this makes custard watery.
