Lettuce Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1 c. diced celery
    4 boiled eggs, diced
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen green peas (uncooked)
    1/2 c. diced green pepper
    1 medium sweet onion, diced
    2 c. mayonnaise
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    4 oz. Cheddar cheese, grated
    8 bacon strips, fried and crushed
Preparation
    Tear lettuce into bite size pieces in a 9 x 12-inch glass dish.
    Layer next 5 ingredients in order given.
    Spread mayonnaise over all evenly.
    Sprinkle sugar over mayonnaise.
    Garnish with cheese and bacon.
    Chill 8 to 12 hours.
