Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 gal. sliced cucumbers
    1 c. lime
Preparation
    Soak the cucumbers and lime in water to cover. Let set overnight.
    Rinse and soak in ice water for 2 hours.
    Make syrup to cover using 1 part sugar and 1 part vinegar (about 5 pounds sugar and 1/2 gallon vinegar). Soak in syrup overnight.
    Add pickling spices and heat (do not boil).
    Put in jars and seal while hot.
