Mimi'S Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. milk
    2 c. sugar
    4 oz. unsweetened Baker's chocolate
    1/2 c. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    In a saucepan, melt together the milk, sugar and chocolate and bring to a boil, stirring gently.
    Let the mixture boil over medium heat until the foam subsides, about 15 minutes.
    Drop a small amount into a cup of ice-cold water.
    If you can form it into a ball, the mixture is ready for the next step.
    Beat in the butter until the mixture thickens and loses its sheen.
    Beat in the vanilla.
    Pour into 8 x 8-inch buttered pan and chill.
