Candied Sweet Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium sized sweet potatoes
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. hot water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 Tbsp. butter
    flavoring according to choice (cinnamon, lemon juice or nutmeg)
Preparation
    Partially boil or bake potatoes; cool and peel.
    Cut into 1/4-inch slices and arrange in buttered baking dish.
    Make syrup of sugar, water and salt.
    Add flavoring and butter.
    Pour over potatoes and cook at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour or more, basting often.
