1 1/2 c. dried figs, finely chopped
3/4 c. water
1/2 c. orange juice
1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. butter or margarine, softened
2/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

Combine figs, water, juice and sugar in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes or until thick; set aside.
