Ingredients

4 medium potatoes, grated
1/2 c. flour
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. black pepper
2 Tbsp. grated onion
shortening for frying
2 c. applesauce or grape jelly for topping
Preparation

Combine potatoes, flour, egg, salt, black pepper and grated onion.
Heat shortening in skillet.
Drop potato mixture by serving spoonfuls into hot shortening.
Brown on both sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
Serve hot with applesauce or grape jelly.
