Black Walnut Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. plus 1 Tbsp. sugar, divided
1 Tbsp. flour
1 unbaked pastry shell
1 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1 c. chopped black walnuts or pecans or reg. walnuts
1 Tbsp. sugar and flour
Preparation

Combine 1 Tbsp. sugar and flour and sprinkle over bottom of pie shell, set aside. In a medium sauce pan bring corn syrup, brown sugar and remaining sugar to a boil. Remove from heat, stir in butter until melted. Let cool for 3 minutes. Gradually stir in eggs into hot mixture. Add walnuts and mix well. Pour into pie shell. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place pie in oven immediately reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake for 55 minutes, or until top is browned.
