Split Pea Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. hot water
2 c. green split peas (about 1 lb.)
2 c. diced ham
1 medium onion, chopped
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 bay leaf
2 stalks celery, cut into 1/4-inch pieces
2 medium carrots, very thinly sliced
Preparation

Combine water, split peas, ham, onion and seasonings in 5-quart casserole.
Cover and microwave at High 40 minutes, stirring several times during cooking.
