Ham And Potatoes Au Gratin - cooking recipe

1 1/2 c. diced, cooked ham
3 c. diced, cooked potatoes
4 Tbsp. margarine
1 small onion, minced
3 Tbsp. flour
2 c. milk
seasoned salt and pepper to taste
1/2 c. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
2 Tbsp. fine dry bread crumbs
Preparation

Layer the ham and potatoes in a shallow 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
Melt 3 tablespoons margarine in a saucepan; add the onion and cook until golden.
Blend in flour.
Add milk gradually and cook, stirring, until thickened.
Season with salt and pepper. Pour over the ham mixture and sprinkle with cheese and bread crumbs.
Dot with remaining margarine.
Bake in a 400\u00b0 oven for about 20 minutes.
Makes 4 servings.
