Bread Puff Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk
    3/4 c. soft bread crumbs
    1 Tbsp. butter
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/8 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Scald the milk and pour over the bread crumbs and butter. Separate the eggs; beat the yolks until thick and combine with the sugar, soda, salt and vanilla.
    Add the bread; fold in the egg whites (whipped stiff).
    Transfer to a well oiled pudding pan; set in a pan of warm water and bake in a slow oven for 30 minutes or until a knife comes out clean when inserted.
    Serve warm.
